Voilà, je mets ici le mail que j’ai envoyé directement au siège de Navman en Nouvelle-Zélande. Pour résumer, je suis dégoûté de tout ce matos maintenant encombrant car inutilisable après seulement 2ans. Je vous félicite vraiment pas pour autant de perfectibilité. Fini Navman! Bien entendu, pas de réponse… Il est bien loin ce temps…

Firstly I think it is appropriate to start by saying how DISAPPOINTED I am right now with my N20 GPS. And my disappointment is just equal to the level of satisfaction that I’ve had using it for slightly over 2 years. I am in fact VERY disappointed, close to being disgusted. I trusted your brand and found everything I needed in a robust, efficient and nicely-designed product such as the N20. 2 year warranty was also a sign of seriousness. But I guess you can imagine how FRUSTRATED and ANGRY I am when the module started going nuts right a few weeks after the warranty had expired  (I figured it out only later on). It almost seemed to be a bad joke. The symptoms are as DUMB, ANNOYING and GOBSMACKING as the zooming button on the touch-screen being self-pressed in loop mode for no reason, making the navigation image become still and totally disconnecting the other touch-screen features. And it does that as soon as I switch it on (the welcome “to read” message self scrolls!!!). It is not even but it never disappears, which makes it even more mind-twisting. It does it randomly, sometimes more hectically than others but the bottom line is that EVERYTIME I turn it on, I CANNOT USE IT EFFECTIVELY. It is totally bugged. And a few tests make me think it is not a software issue. It even got me lost and really made me go nuts when I badly needed it lately for business reasons. A disgrace for a GPS!  Although I clearly was about to dump it by the window, I couldn’t resign to. Yes, I must remind you I paid a significant amount of my money back in 2007 on this product PLUS more bucks on acquiring the TMC Traffic module not so long ago. Just figure out how I feel now when I look at all this junk (windshield holder+TMC module+GPS+antenna+charger) that is NO LONGER USABLE?? Only after 2 years of a reasonable usage?? I will not accept any allusions to bad treatment as I have always been very careful with my gear. It doesn’t have one single stitch. It has purely let me down, with no apparent explanation and any plausible cause I could relate this flaw to. I do not expect much in return of this e-mail as you’ll surely stick to your corporate guidelines but if so, you shouldn’t expect me to buy any of your products again. It’s even hard for me to imagine throwing everything away. This is not green AT ALL. I really wish I could have dropped it at some stage. At least I would have understood why it’s gone bezerk.
